Challenge
A skilled builder doing serious work, being found by the wrong kind of client.
Owen at Farswood Conytruction does complex, high-standard work. Major extensions, full-house renovations, design and build transformations in the better-off suburbs of North Leeds. The kind of projects that need real planning, sequencing and honest ownership from first survey to final handover.
The enquiries coming through didn’t reflect any of that. Free-quote hunters, one-off repairs, cheap-extension leads, jobs from parts of the region where the numbers were never going to work. Every wrong-fit enquiry cost a site visit, a survey, or a quote that was never going to convert. The old brand and website didn’t do enough to signal what Farswood actually was, so it was being grouped in, and priced against, businesses doing very different work.
Goal
Rebrand and reposition Farswood around one clear bearing, then rebuild everything to match.
We started with a North Star exercise with Owen, and landed on a single statement that every future decision could be sense-checked against: Farswood exists to be the first call for North Leeds clients who want complex home projects done properly. From there, everything else got tuned to match.
A full rebrand. New identity, typography, colour and tone. Confident and grown-up, built to sit comfortably next to the architects and designers Farswood works with.
A website that leads with proof, not promises. Photo-led case studies, plain English on process and typical budgets, and the North Leeds suburbs Farswood actually works in named clearly so the right searches find them.
Decision rules baked into the site. What Farswood says yes to, and what it leaves alone, so serious clients recognise themselves and everyone else quietly moves on.
Owen on camera, not a lifestyle brand. Short, useful videos filmed on a phone. Site updates, problems solved, honest explanations of why a proper survey matters.
Result
Enquiries Owen actually wants to answer, and a brand that finally matches the work.
Farswood isn’t a volume business, and this was never about chasing a bigger number of leads. It was about changing the shape of what came through the door. The brand, the site, the content and the social presence now say the same thing clearly enough that the wrong people quietly self-select out, and the right ones self-select in.
Enquiries now come mostly from the named North Leeds suburbs. Prospects arrive already understanding the standard of work, the process, and roughly what a project like theirs costs, so conversations start much further down the line. Architects and designers in the area have a proper website, and a proper-looking business, to refer clients to.
